Everyone can do yoga, but not all of us want or can do all of the postures – and to be honest, we don’t need to. Using the yoga posture or asana, and the breath or pranayama I work with you on a 1-2-1 basis helping you to become more aware of your body and mind.
The first session starts with an assessment of any injuries, aches and pains, followed by an assessment of your movement and breathing patterns. From here we work out a sequence of movements and breathwork that will help you become stronger, improves your flexibility and stability, helps you feel more relaxed, calmer and more in control of your emotions, and learn how to access this feeling when practicing on your own. From here I guide you into a deep 10-15-minute relaxation.
No yoga experience is necessary, yoga therapy is not about turning people into yogis. It’s about using the vast array of techniques that yoga offers, combined with best principles of movement and manual therapy from physiotherapy to give you the tools to feel better, every day
